About Zohar USY and Kadima at Congregation Shearith Israel
USY (9th - 12 Grade):
USY is our teen youth group and is a part of the regional and international structure of United Synagogue Youth. On a local level, teens participate in activities such as going to professional sports games, Shabbaton overnights, pool parties, Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) projects, and movie nights. Teens also have the opportunity to attend regional conventions throughout the year to form friendships with USYers from all over Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. Additionally, USYers have the chance to attend international convention to meet Jewish teens from all USY chapters worldwide.
Kadima (6th - 8th Grade):
Kadima is an introductory group to our teen youth programs. Kadima members participate in monthly activities such as rock climbing, bowling, and laser tag. Kadimaniks also have the opportunity to attend two annual regional conventions.
